J Roddy Walston and The Automatic Band base their sound around the piano. To the singer/piano player/guitarist, J Roddy, it's no different than an electric guitar. His sound is way more Jerry Lee Lewis than Ben Folds. It's a nod to the genre's originators. Roddy plays the piano as if his life depended on it. And the lyrics? They're tainted by his Southern upbringing- clever, gritty, dirty, witty and punchy. Doors @ 6:30pm.
